H. John Shammas, MD

H. John Shammas, M.D. is a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, and the Medical Director of the Shammas Eye Medical Center and M/S Surgery Center in California, with offices in Lynwood, Downey, and Whittier.

Dr. Shammas has been participating in courses on Biometry and IOL Power Calculation at the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery meetings since 1978. He is the author of the Shammas No-History Formula for IOL power calculation after refractive surgery. He is also a reviewer for the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and multiple other journals. He is a founding member of the IOL Power Club.

Dr. Shammas has published over 200 articles in American and International journals, and he is the author of 5 books, including:
